Quinoa seeds are so good for you that they have become recognized as a superfood. It is incredibly nutritious and safe to eat for everyone. It can be used as an alternative to grains in many healthful meal plans. As the seed is gluten-free, quinoa cereal, flour, and pasta are safe to eat for the people who have Celiac disease or just willing to exclude gluten from their menu.

However, this incredible food does contain some proteins that are similar in composition to gluten. It means that people with extreme food sensitivities must be careful.

How to Use

1 cup Quinoa, 2 cups Water, Season to taste. Rinse quinoa thoroughly before cooking, run warm water into a pot so the quinoa agitates but does not overflow. Rinse for 3 minutes, drain well. Place quinoa, seasonings and water in saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Cover and simmer for 7-10 minutes. Substitute quinoa for rice or grains in your favorite recipes. For a hot breakfast cereal add chopped apples, raisins and cinnamon.

NOTE: Quinoa requires thorough rinsing (3 minutes).
